NASCA Announces new Executive Director

NASCA President Bill Smith announced on May 31st that NASCA has hired Mike Beacom of Amherst Junction, Wisconsin as the organization’s new Executive Director. Mike has served as Forestry Specialist for the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) for the last 20+ years, and has represented NACD on the Joint Forestry Team for the past twelve years. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and has also served as a journalist, an author, and an editor. According to Smith, “Mike’s extensive skillset and his familiarity with the conservation partnership will be tremendous assets for NASCA, its members, and its partners.”

Mike will take over the NASCA Executive Director position effective July 1, replacing outgoing Executive Director Mike Brown, who will retire at the end of the year. Beacom and Brown will work together for the remainder of 2022, ensuring a smooth transition for the organization.
