We are having trouble finding an insurance carrier to underwrite the district vehicle insurance. Our agent thought he had it secured with Progressive but they just bailed out. I’m curious to know what carriers other states are using.  Thanks so much!

        Hey Cynthia,

The districts here get their insurance from the Idaho Counties Risk Management Program (https://www.icrmp.org/). You might check with the Arkansas County Association and see if they offer something similar. It’s member funded.

In Virginia most districts go through our state risk management program. However, some are also insured privately through the Farm Bureau.

            Hi Cynthia –

In Washington, most special purpose districts are insured (or re-insured) through a ‘company’ called Enduris (formerly Washington Government Entity Pool). All 45 conservation districts in WA are insured through them. A link to their website is included in this answer. Because Enduris is entirely funded through public entities, they’re also audited by the State Auditor’s Office (SAO) just like every other public entity in Washington.

            Hope this helps!

Cynthia, our Conservation Districts have the same issue, but just this week we had one of our districts report the following:

From Dewey County Conservation District – We are changing our insurance and saving a little over $1,800 a year. Any time you can save it will help with other projects. Glatfelter which is carried by different agencies presented by Burrows & Burrows Agency out of Claremore covers municipalities, schools, fire depts. etc. We are working with Eitzen Agency out of Fairview. 1/800-375-2553. We have 3 times or more insurance coverage than we have with present agency. Glatfelter is the company that covered some of the fire trucks that burnt up in the Rhea fire. They did pay off. Feel free to ask questions and check into it. I can’t tell you other agencies that have the Burrows & Burrows/Glatfelter you will have to investigate that on your own.

              Hope this helps.
